About the Band

The Storyville Five play acoustic New Orleans jazz the way it began — cornet leading the front line, a rhythm section that swings, and a century of history in every chorus.

Named for the New Orleans district where jazz was born, the band brings that early, hot, hand-made sound to concerts, private parties, and speakeasy nights around New Mexico. Led by veteran trumpeter Bill Biffle, the Five trade choruses on the standards that built the music — Tin Pan Alley, traditional jazz, and the tunes that never left Bourbon Street. Jazz with a past, played for right now.
